TeliaSonera, Sweden, now offers a limited number of 4G modems to its customers. The 4G coverage is so far limited to few places in Stockholm, primarily in the downtown area. Initial “hands-on” tests shows that the performance is promising, albeit some ways from the theoretical maximum download times (100 Mbits/s). As the infrastructure is built, providing better coverage, the demand for 4G and the value, conversely, will obviously increase, probably reaching the next level as combined 3G/4G modems become available by July 2010.
